Setup

Install Elasticsearch MCP Server

It runs locally with: docker run -i --rm -e ES_URL -e ES_API_KEY docker.elastic.co/mcp/elasticsearch stdio. In Claude Code run: claude mcp add elasticsearch -e ES_URL='<ES_URL>' -e ES_API_KEY='<ES_API_KEY>' -- docker run -i --rm -e ES_URL -e ES_API_KEY docker.elastic.co/mcp/elasticsearch stdio. In Cursor or Claude Desktop add a "elasticsearch" entry with that command under mcpServers. Checked against the official README on Oct 18, 2026.

Paste into ~/.cursor/mcp.json, or claude_desktop_config.json for Claude Desktop.
