An AI coding assistant has to enter the repository you are changing. A tool that only writes a sample in an empty chat cannot handle the errors, interfaces, and existing style in the repo.
Cursor puts code editing, the terminal, and review in one workspace. The agent can see the project context, so it can plan, change, and check software in a real repository. MeetNewAI records a free plan and a Pro plan. Quotas follow cursor.com. The last check was October 14, 2026. The record says desktop, and the workflow is plan, write, check.
Try one small change
Try one small change. Open the current repository and ask it to explain a module you already know. See whether the files it reads are the ones you are changing. Then ask for a limited edit, such as a return value or a check whose answer you already know. Stay in the same workspace, read the diff, and keep the change only when the files match the task.
The order is three checks. Can it read the current repository? Can you review the change in the same place? Does the free plan cover this one complete task? After those three, give it a longer task. More coding tools are in AI tools for coding, read in the same order.
